Raids: play something rare

Pull off something rare and everyone else in the group loses a slice of their balance. Yours is untouched.

How a raid works

Golf Champs reads every card the moment it lands. When your round has something rare in it, the app fires a raid: every other player in the group loses a slice of their balance, and your own balance doesn’t move. It lands in the Raids feed with your name on it, so the whole group sees it.

You don’t claim anything or tell anyone. Enter your card the way you always have and the app does the rest.

Raids anyone can pull off

Some are open to every handicap:

  • Birdie Streak: three or more gross birdies in a row.
  • Eagle Raid: any gross eagle. The higher your handicap, the harder it hits.
  • Hot Run: three rounds in a row at 36 points or better.
  • Comeback Kid: a wipe on one hole, then four points or more on the very next.
  • Victory Lap: every time you beat your line, everyone else loses a little.

Raids for every handicap

Other raids belong to a handicap tier, so each tier has its own targets and a 24-marker doesn’t have to shoot 66:

  • Elite (5 and under): The Surgeon, On Fire.
  • Low (5.1 to 10): Sharpshooter, The Closer, Clean Card.
  • Mid (10.1 to 18): Par Machine, Hot Hands, Net Hat-Trick.
  • High (18.1 and up): The Unicorn, which is any gross birdie at all.

Why groups love them

A mate’s hot streak costs everyone else a bit, so every card is worth watching and every handicap has a realistic raid to chase. Every raid that hits your balance is on the record in the Ledger.

Good to know

Do I lose anything when I raid?

No. Your balance is untouched. Everyone else in the group loses a slice of theirs.

Can a high-handicapper raid?

Yes. Every tier has its own raids, and an eagle from a high marker hits hardest of all.

What if a raid pushes me past the bottom line?

A raid can’t trigger you on its own. You’re in the Danger Zone, and your next round (or the end of the period) decides it, so you can play your way out. See Beats and Triggers.

Where can I see every raid?

In the Raids feed, where the whole group sees them land. Every raid that hit your own balance is also in the Ledger.

Every number and every edge case is on the rules page.
