The Double Flag: once a period, your round counts double
Once a period, before you play, wave the flag. Your next round counts double: your score, your blunders, Home Turf and your GC points.
How it works
- Wave it before you play, from Home or when you start a live round. It locks on to your next comp round.
- The whole group is told the moment you wave it.
- It counts double however you play. There are no take-backs, and a flagged round can’t be mulliganed.
- You get one flag per period. Use it or lose it.
What doubles
- Your score for the round.
- Your blunders.
- Your Home Turf result.
- Your GC points: a beat is worth 6 instead of 3, and a trigger costs 6 instead of 3.
What stays single
Raids, both the ones you pull off and the ones that hit you, and the side games: Head-to-Head, Skins, Snake and Nearest the Pin. The flag only ever touches your own round, never your mates’ money.
When to wave it
When you can feel a good one coming. A strong round doubled can carry you over the top line on its own. A bad one doubled is worse, and the whole group was told you waved it.
Good to know
Can I wave it after the round?
No. You wave it before you play, and it locks on to your next comp round.
Can I change my mind?
No. There are no take-backs.
Does it double my raids?
No. Raids stay single, both ways.
What if I don’t use it?
It’s gone at the end of the period, and you get a new one for the next.
