The Finals: the trip crowns a second champion
The season ends. The trip is the Finals. Every round scores twice, and the Finals crowns its own champion.
Two champions
A Golf Champs year has two. The Season Champion tops the GC points ladder when the season ends. The Finals Champion is decided on the trip. Winning the season earns a head start into the Finals, not the title, and a Finals win never rewrites the season. Both names sit side by side, for good.
Neither title is money. There’s no prize and no buy-in: just names and points.
Your seed is a head start
Your chip count from Award Night sets your seed, and your seed gives you a head start in Finals points before the first tee.
Every round scores twice
Each round on the trip scores two halves:
- Individual: first on net stableford takes 10 points, then 7, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and 1.
- Pairs: the winning pair takes 5, the second pair 3, and everyone else 1.
Your head start plus every round’s points is your total, and the highest total wins. Nothing is dropped: miss a round and it scores zero.
Every round is a Major
On the trip, every round is a Major, with the field confirmed on the day.
The pairs
The organiser picks the team game when the Finals starts (Sixes, best ball, or individual only) and draws the pairs each round, rotated so nobody gets the same partner until they have to.

Does the Season Champion win the Finals?
No. They start with a head start, and the Finals is decided on the trip.
Who starts the Finals?
The organiser, once the season has ended.
What if there’s an odd number of us?
One player sits out the pairs each round and takes the average of the pairs points.
How is a tie broken?
Best single round, then the lower handicap, then the organiser’s coin toss.
Is there a prize?
No. Both titles are names and points only.
