Playing a Champ Day

A Champ Day is the whole game in one day: everyone plays their own round, and the day crowns one winner and one Foursome of the Day.

One day, one winner

Everyone plays their own round, in four-balls (the app calls them foursomes). Put your scores in hole by hole or all at the end. Every round is scored on stableford, off your own handicap.

Everything in your round moves one number, your balance. On a Champ Day it’s a running score: up when you play well, down when you don’t, and where you finish is where you rank. There are no GC points, beats or triggers, no Pot tab and no Double Flag.

Your four-ball is your world

Raids never leave your four-ball, so the rest of the field never feels yours. Blunders come off your own balance as usual, and any side games your organiser has switched on play out inside your four-ball too. If your organiser has set the foursomes, tap your foursome under TODAY’S FOURSOMES — TAP TO SELECT when you enter scores.

Follow the day

  • Home shows Top Players and ⛳ TOP FOURSOMES. Tap open › for the Foursomes screen.
  • On the Board, Individual ranks every player (switch to STB or Birdies (Gross)). Foursomes ranks the foursomes by Foursome Score or any category award, once there are at least two foursomes.
  • More shows Schedule the Day (course, tee time and who’s playing) and Foursomes. Beats, Polls and Award Night drop out.

The Foursomes screen

  • 🏆 FOURSOME OF THE DAY goes to the best Foursome Score: average stableford, plus birdies and eagles per player, less blunders per player. Tap it for the working.
  • CATEGORY AWARDS: 🎯 Sharpest Cards (best average stableford), 🐦 Birdie Machine (most birdies and eagles per player), 🌋 Most Volatile (most raids and blunders per player) and 🛡️ Cleanest Round (fewest blunders per player).
  • HOW THE DAY UNFOLDED charts running balances hole by hole, your four-ball first, up to four lines at once. FOURSOME RACE does the same for each foursome’s average.
  • Then a card per foursome: tap a player for their round, or WHAT HAPPENED for the raids, blunders and scoring.

Good to know

Who can I raid?

Nobody outside your four-ball. The rest of the field never feels your raids. See Raids.

How do the foursomes get set?

Your organiser sets them up before you tee off. Without that, the app can only group cards entered together with a side game on, and with no groups there’s no foursome contest.

How is a three-ball compared with a four-ball?

Every foursome number is worked out per player, so a group of three competes fairly with a group of four.

When do the awards appear?

Once cards are in and there are at least two foursomes. They’re final when your organiser closes the day: see Close the Day.
